Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Can I connect Scary Head to my Servo Skelly?
A: Unfortunately, the Scary Head isn't compatible with the Servo Skelly.
Q: I need a replacement neck connector. What part should I get?
A: A neck connector comes attached to part SPI. 12 ft. Servo Skelly - SPINE.
Q: The head doesn't move. What can I do?
A: Let's start by checking the power.
Step 1:
Check and ensure that all cables are connected as shown in the instruction sheet (Steps 5.1, 7.3), and ensure that the adapter (Part W) is properly connected to the control box located in Part K with the threaded cap fully tightened (Step 8.1).
Step 2:
Press the middle button on the control box twice to activate TIMER/SENSOR mode; a red indicator light should turn on, and the LCD eyes should activate. If you can't see a red light indicator, try swapping an adapter. 12 ft. Skelly with Servo requires 3A Outdoor adapter.
Step 3:
Next, try triggering a motion sensor located in part K. The animation should activate for an 18 second activity cycle.
In TIMER/SENSOR mode the LCD eyes will be on for a period of 6 hours and then the eyes will deactivate for 18 hours. The sensor cannot be triggered during the 18-hour inactive period.
If the animation does not activate, make sure that nothing is blocking the sensor and that the red wire at the neck is connected.
If you can hear the motor but there's no head movement, it may be time to replace the head.
Q: Where can I get Skelly Accessories?
A: The accessory kit and chest light kit are all exclusive to The Home Depot. Be sure to check their website or your local store for availability!
Q: Can the head move continuously?
A: The head movement can only be activated when in TIMER/SENSOR mode. During the 6 hour period, the Infrared (IR) sensor can be triggered, which activates the animation of the item for an 18 second activity cycle. The sensor cannot be triggered during the 18-hour inactive period.
Q: Skelly eyes do not turn on. What should I do?
A: Let's start by checking the power.
Step 1:
Check and ensure that all cables are connected as shown in the instruction sheet (Steps 5.1, 7.3), and ensure that the adapter (Part W) is properly connected to the control box located in Part K with the threaded cap fully tightened (Step 8.1).
Step 2:
Press the middle button on the control box. You should see a red indicator light turn on—this means the control box is active and the LCD eyes should activate.
Still not working?
If you see a red light on the control box but the eyes do not light up and all connections are in place, we suggest ordering a replacement eye kit.
Using the Chest Light Kit?
Try disconnecting the light kit and then activating the eyes. If the eyes turn on, the light kit may need to be replaced.
Q: How do I connect a Chest Light Kit to my Skelly with Servo?
A: Start by connecting one black wire from the light kit to the black wire coming from the head.
Then, take the second black wire from the light kit and connect it to the black wire from the neck.
Next, connect the two remaining white wires—one from the head and one from the neck.
Lastly, connect red wire from the neck to the red wire from the head.
You’re all set!
Q: What's the size of the Loop Screw and Shoulder bolt?
A: Loop Screw: Stainless Steel Long Lifting Eye Bolt with Nut & Washer, M8, 6 inch long, 5/16 or 8 mm Shoulder Bolt: M8 1.25 16mm.
Q: My Remote Control doesn’t work. What should I do?
A: The remote lets you change Skelly’s settings from up to 20 feet away. It also has a built-in indicator light, so you’ll know it’s working. If you don't see a red light indicator try these steps:
Step 1:
Ensure that your 12 ft. Skelly is set to "ON" or Timer". NOTE: TIMER/SENSOR setting still needs to be selected directly from Skelly’s control panel, not through the remote.
Step 2:
Make sure that you are within a 20 ft. range of the 12 ft. Skelly. If issue persists, replace the
batteries in the Remote Control with fresh batteries (2 x 1.5V AAA).
