Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Skelly eyes do not turn on. What should I do?

A: No worries—let’s walk through a few quick steps to get those eyes glowing again!

Step 1:
Check the power and connections. Make sure all cables are plugged in as shown in the instruction sheet (Steps 5.1 and 7.2). Double-check that the adapter (Part W) is securely connected to the control box in Part K, and that the threaded cap is fully tightened (Step 8.1).

Step 2:
Press the middle button on the control box. You should see a red indicator light turn on—this means the control box is active, and the LCD eyes should light up.

Still not working?
If the red light is ON but the eyes still aren't working, and you’ve confirmed all connections are secure, it might be time to order a replacement eye kit.

Using the Chest Light Kit?
Try unplugging it and then turning the eyes on again. If they light up after that, the light kit may be the issue and we’d recommend replacing it.

Q: My Remote Control doesn’t work. What should I do?

A: The remote lets you change Skelly’s settings from up to 20 feet away. It also has a built-in indicator light, so you’ll know it’s working. If you don't see a red light indicator try these steps:

Step 1:
Ensure that your 12 ft. Skelly is set to "ON" or Timer". NOTE: TIMER/SENSOR setting still needs to be selected directly from Skelly’s control panel, not through the remote.

Step 2:
Make sure that you are within a 20 ft. range of the 12 ft. Skelly. If issue persists, replace the
batteries in the Remote Control with fresh batteries (2 x 1.5V AAA).

Q: How do I connect a Chest Light Kit to my 2024 Skelly?

A: Start by connecting one black wire from the light kit to the black wire coming from the head.

Then, take the second black wire from the light kit and connect it to the black wire from the neck.

Next, connect the two remaining white wires—one from the head and one from the neck.

As for the red wire, don’t worry—it’s not needed for this setup. Just tuck it safely into the neck and leave it unconnected.

You’re all set!

Q: What should I do to protect Skelly from bad weather?

A: Before any storms or strong winds roll in, it’s best to gently lay Skelly down flat and cover it up. This helps keep all the parts safe and prevents any weather-related damage. A little prep goes a long way in keeping your Skelly looking great!

Q: Can I use external timers?

A: Absolutely! Skelly works great with external timers and will remember its settings even when the power is turned off and back on.

Q: Where can I get Skelly Accessories?

A: The accessory kit, chest light kit, and scary head are all exclusive to The Home Depot. Be sure to check their website or your local store for availability!

Q: Can I order Skelly 2024 replacement parts for my 2022–2023 Skelly?

A: The 2024 remote, connector disks (for the neck and arm), loop screw, cable (Part U), and base are all compatible with the 2022–2023 Skelly models. The 2024 remote is also compatible with the 2025 Skelly.

Q: What's the size of the Loop Screw and Shoulder bolt and Cable?

A: Loop Screw: Stainless Steel Long Lifting Eye Bolt with Nut & Washer, M8, 6 inch long, 5/16 or 8 mm
Shoulder Bolt: M8 1.25 16mm
Cable (Part U): 19.5 ft. including loops (around 19 ft. without the loops)

Q: Are Skelly's Support Poles (Part D and E) compatible across all models?

A: Yes, they are all compatible.

Q: How to recognize if the male or female connector is needed for the arms?

A: The connection with the prongs is the male and the inserts would be female.

Q: Can I use Connector Disk Male Arms for the neck?

Q: Can I order a 2025 Control Box for my 2021–2024 Skeleton?

A: The 2025 Skeleton uses a different electrical design than the 2021–2024 models. Because of this, the 2025 Control Box is not compatible with earlier versions on its own.
