I’m hoping someone can help me troubleshoot a 2023 Costco 6 ft Punk Rocker Skeleton, model 5125083.
Everything works except the two red LED eyes:
- Sound and motion sensor work.
- Head, jaw and guitar arm movements work.
- Both eyes remain completely off in every mode.
There are two barrel connectors between the control box and the head. The black connector controls the jaw, because disconnecting it stops the jaw movement. The red connector seems to be for the eyes, but connecting or disconnecting it makes no difference.
The connectors look clean and undamaged, with no visible corrosion, bent contacts or burned wiring. I have reseated the red connector several times.
Has anyone had this problem before, or does anyone know:
- whether the red connector is definitely for the eyes;
- what voltage and polarity it should have;
- whether the LED resistor or driver is inside the head or the control box;
- whether the eyes can be tested safely with an external regulated power supply.
The control box is marked 5.9 V DC, centre-positive, although I’m not sure whether that only refers to the main power input.
