Taking care of your animatronic will help it last. Follow these care tips to keep it in great shape and store it safely when not in use.

General Maintenance Tips

  • Use Only the Provided Adapter:
Always power your item with the supplied adapter. Using the wrong adapter may damage electrical components.

  • Clean Gently:
Use a soft, clean cloth to wipe down the surface. Avoid anything abrasive that could scratch or damage the finish.
Note: Do not wash, bleach, dry, iron, or dry clean.

  • Do Not Modify or Add Accessories (unless designed for it):
Modifications can interfere with electrical or structural safety.

  • Never Climb or Pull On the Prop:
SVI Products are decorative only and are not designed to support weight or impact.

  • Keep Away from Moisture and Heat:
Do not immerse your animatronic in liquid, and never use it near open flames or heat sources.

  • Supervise Children Around the Prop:
Some components contain small parts or wires that may pose a choking hazard or entanglement risk.

  • Protect the Adapter:
The power adapter heats up during operation. Keep it away from flammable materials and out of reach of children and pets.

  • Secure All Cables Properly:
Match cables by color and connect them firmly according to the instructions. For outdoor props, make sure that the moisture caps are screwed on tightly to keep the connections dry and secure.

Outdoor Setup Tips

  • Set up on a flat, level surface.
  • Use cables, ground stakes (if included) or weights such as bags with sand on the base.
  • During high winds and storms, lay the item down or bring it indoors.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Cover exposed ports. If the Try Me port is not in use, ensure the waterproof cap is securely in place.

Storage Tips

When the season is over, storing your prop correctly is just as important as setting it up:

  1. Unplug the adapter and all cables.
Important: Always unplug the item from the wall outlet before handling any wires.
  2. Carefully place all parts back into the original packaging or a storage container.
  3. Avoid crushing or bending parts, especially wires, connectors, and moving parts.
  4. Handle the head of the animatronic with special care; we recommend putting it in a separate bag first to prevent damage.
  5. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, or heat.
  6. Tape the box closed.

Battery-Powered Components

Some props may include battery-powered parts and remote controls. Keep these battery safety tips in mind:

  • Do not mix battery types (e.g. alkaline with rechargeable).
  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+/−).
  • Remove batteries if the item won’t be used for a long time.
  • Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
  • Rechargeable batteries must be removed before charging and only charged under adult supervision.
